How One Model Lost Her Leg to Toxic Shock Syndrome.
The model who lost her leg to toxic shock syndrome revealed that she is 'inevitably' going to lose the other and is speaking out to warn women of the dangers of this infection.
Lauren Wasser, 29, contracted toxic shock syndrome (TSS) in 2012 after using a super-plus tampon while on her period.

"In a few months, I’m inevitably going to have my other leg amputated. There’s nothing I can do about it. But what I can do is help make sure that this doesn’t happen to others," she said.
Many women are unaware about the hidden dangers of sanitary pads and tampons.
Tampons and pads with odor neutralizers and artificial fragrances are virtually a chemical soup, laced with artificial colors, polyester, adhesives, polyethylene (PET), polypropylene and propylene glycol (PEG), contaminants linked to hormone disruption, cancer, birth defects, dryness and infertility.
In addition to bleaching agents used to make feminine products “appear” clean, the chemicals used to create fragrances add another element of risks.

Based on a report by Leigh Erin Connealy, M.D. “Fragrance is a mixture of ingredients that can include any of over 3,000 different chemicals; and the components of any one fragrance are usually kept secret by manufacturers."
Don't be another statistic or victim of possible conditions caused by poor quality sanitary pads during menstruation.

Potential Health Risks Of Using Traditional Feminine Sanitary Pads and Tampons
Our skin is our largest organ, and is also very permeable, especially the sensitive skin around a woman’s vaginal walls - and inside of it. As sanitary pads and tampons are in constant contact with a women’s skin over time, the chemicals they release are transferred directly into the blood stream and organs.
- Toxic shock syndrome is a rare but life-threatening condition. It's triggered by bacteria getting into the body, and releasing harmful toxins.

The condition is typically linked with tampon use in young women, but it can affect anyone of any age.

TSS gets worse rapidly, and it can be fatal if it's not treated properly and quickly.
